⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 6/10 THE SUMMARY Beth (Leighton Meester) travels to Croatia for a girls' trip with her chaotic best friend, Kate. After a heavy night out in Split, Beth wakes up to a pained reality: her hotel room is a mess and Kate is missing. As she desperately retraces their steps, she finds herself trapped in a gritty web of local corruption and personal betrayals. With the police viewing her as a prime suspect, Beth has to rely on a pained, shaky alliance with a local taxi driver to uncover the truth before she's locked up for a crime she didn't commit. THE PROS Leighton Meester gives a sincere, grounded performance that carries the film through its more predictable moments. It hits a 6 because the Croatian setting is a total highlight—the sun-drenched streets and narrow alleys provide a visceral, beautiful contrast to the pained paranoia Beth is feeling. The mystery moves at a punchy pace, throwing enough red herrings at you to keep it an honest, engaging watch for a Friday night.
