    ⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 8/10 THE SUMMARY The Dutton saga gets colder, harsher, and somehow even more unforgiving. 1923 picks up the family story during a brutal era of drought, prohibition, and economic strain, following Jacob and Cara Dutton as they fight to hold onto their land while threats close in from all sides. At the same time, a parallel story follows Spencer Dutton across Africa, tying the family’s past to something much bigger than just Montana. THE PROS Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren are an absolute power duo—no nonsense, no wasted lines, just pure authority on screen. The scale feels bigger than 1883, especially with Spencer’s storyline, which adds a sense of adventure alongside the grit. The production value is top tier, and the tone stays grounded despite the sprawling narrative. When it leans into the tension, it’s properly gripping. THE CONS It can feel a bit split. The dual storylines don’t always flow smoothly, and sometimes it feels like you’re watching two different shows fighting for attention. The pacing can drag in places, especially when it’s setting up rather than delivering, and some threads take a while to pay off. THE VERDICT An 8/10. It’s a strong continuation of the Dutton legacy with standout performances and a wider scope, even if it occasionally struggles to balance everything it’s juggling.
