⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 7/10 THE SUMMARY Return to the "Pit," the vertical, dystopian prison where a slab of food descends through hundreds of levels, leaving those at the bottom to starve while those at the top feast. This time, a new resident (Milena Smit) enters the pained social experiment just as a mysterious leader imposes a gritty, brutal new law: you only eat what you chose as your favorite dish. As the "Anointed" enforce this rule with lethal zeal, the prison descends into a civil war between those following the law and those fighting for the freedom to scavenge. It’s a visceral, claustrophobic look at how quickly a pained utopia turns into a gritty nightmare. THE PROS This is an absolute win for fans of the first film's bleak, high-concept grit. It hits a 7 because the expansion of the "rules" provides an epic, sincere look at how humans weaponize even the best intentions. Milena Smit is a total banger, delivering a pained and honest performance as someone trying to maintain their sanity in a world designed to break it. The production design remains visceral—the cold, concrete walls feel heavy and pained, and the gore is handled with a gritty realism that makes the stakes feel incredibly real.
