Overview

Set against the backdrop of a postapocalyptic Earth whose Eastern Hemisphere was destroyed by a massive solar flare, leaving what life remains mutated from radiation and fallout. ⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 7/10 THE SUMMARY Samuel L. Jackson and Dave Bautista team up for this post-apocalyptic action flick set a decade after a massive solar flare fried the planet’s tech. The world is a wasteland, and Bautista plays Jake, a "recovery man" who ventures into dangerous territory to retrieve valuable lost treasures from the old world. His latest mission is to recover the Mona Lisa before a radical warlord gets his hands on it. It’s a high-octane treasure hunt that feels like a mix of Mad Max and Indiana Jones, trading gritty realism for explosive fun. THE PROS Dave Bautista is the perfect fit for this kind of role; he brings a physical presence that makes the fight scenes feel heavy and real. Samuel L. Jackson is having the time of his life as the cynical handler, dropping lines with that classic energy only he can deliver. It’s a 7/10 because the stunt work is top-tier, featuring some genuinely gripping vehicle chases across the desert that don't rely too much on dodgy CGI. The world-building is actually quite clever, showing how society has regressed into a low-tech, scavenger culture. The first part of the movie moves at a breakneck pace, throwing you straight into the action without wasting time on boring exposition.
