He turned what could've been a one-note angry bloke with sideburns into one of the most beloved characters in comic book history. By the time Logan rolled around, fans weren't just watching a superhero film. They were saying goodbye to an old mate. Not many actors get that sort of connection with audiences.Mind you, if all you know him from is the X-Men films, you're missing half the story. Hugh's always had one foot in Hollywood and the other in musical theatre. One minute he's growling and throwing people through walls, the next he's singing his lungs out in Les Misérables or dancing around in The Greatest Showman. Most actors spend their careers trying to avoid being put in a box. Hugh smashed the box to bits years ago and turned it into a stage prop.And then there's his friendship with Ryan Reynolds, which has become one of the longest-running acts of mutual mickey-taking in human history. Honestly, it's sometimes hard to tell whether they actually like each other or are just trapped in the world's friendliest feud.

Hugh Jackman is one of those annoyingly talented people who seems good at absolutely everything. He can make you laugh, break your heart, belt out a song and then grow a pair of sideburns capable of frightening small children. But what really makes him special is that despite all the success, he still comes across as one of the nicest blokes in the business. Which is probably why audiences have stuck by him for so long.
