Muzan Kibutsuji has set the ultimate trap, separating the Hashira and Tanjiro across a non-Euclidean nightmare dimension. This first installment of the trilogy focuses on three massive fronts: Shinobu Kocho facing the Upper Rank Two demon who killed her sister, Zenitsu confronting a traitor from his own past who has embraced demonhood, and the emotional centerpiece—Tanjiro and Giyu taking on Upper Rank Three, Akaza. It’s a desperate race to survive, map the stronghold, and find Muzan before the Corps is picked off one by one. THE PROS Ufotable has reached epic status with the animation here; the way the castle shifts and rotates in 3D space is a technical marvel that makes the big screen feel mandatory. The fight between Zenitsu and Kaigaku is punchy and visually stunning, featuring a new Thunder Breathing form that is pure quality. It’s a 9/10 because it balances the bombastic action with sincere emotional depth—the backstories for both the slayers and the Upper Ranks are woven in perfectly.
