⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 7/10 THE SUMMARY A chaotic, lighthearted British rom-com set around a Manchester university campus. Owen is a young sound engineer who falls head over heels for a girl at a student bar, only for her to disappear after accidentally giving him a wrong digit in her phone number. Desperate to find her, he kicks off a massive, clumsy search across the entire student body. He ends up crossing paths with Emily, a sharp psychology student who realizes Owen's obsessive quest makes the ultimate real-world case study for her final degree thesis on why love is a form of temporary madness. THE PROS Spike Fearn is excellent as the completely clueless, love-struck musician, bringing a ton of awkward, authentic charm to his frantic search. Angourie Rice matches him perfectly, playing the calculating student whose clinical experiment predictably blows up in her face. The film captures the messy, high-energy vibe of UK university life brilliantly, packed with student union drama, viral internet nonsense, and a hilarious, massive party featuring hundreds of girls all named Emily. THE CONS The second half relies on a few overly familiar romantic comedy misunderstandings that feel a bit formulaic and easy to guess. The pacing dips slightly in the middle when the focus shifts heavily onto the academic ethics of Emily's thesis experiment rather than the banter between the leads. THE VERDICT A solid 7/10.
