⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 6/10 THE SUMMARYA chaotic and foul-mouthed comedy that takes the classic "annoying outsider upends an uptight bloke's life" formula and drives it straight down a rocky road. The story follows Rudd Landy, a hyper-anxious, ultra-successful real estate agent who is completely obsessed with landing a spot on a high-profile reality TV show. His meticulously polished world gets completely smashed to pieces when Marcus Pinchel—the eccentric kid Rudd briefly mentored thirty years ago in a "Big Brother" outreach program—suddenly breaks out of an institution and tracks him down, convinced they are still best friends. THE PROSJohn Cena is surprisingly great as the straight man, pulling off a fantastic deadpan performance that makes his character's slow-burning psychological meltdown genuinely funny to watch. Eric André brings his signature, unfiltered physical comedy to the table, taking an absolute battering from a relentless parade of ridiculous accidents and slapstick disasters that will definitely get you chuckling. The chemistry between the two leads keeps the engine running, especially when the script lets them bounce off Michelle Monaghan and a properly intense Christopher Meloni. THE CONSWhile the physical stunts hit the mark, a massive chunk of the script relies on incredibly lazy, juvenile toilet humor that feels completely uninspired and drags the comedy down. The plot follows the standard streaming comedy playbook step-for-step, making it incredibly easy to predict exactly how every single family argument and emotional reconciliation is going to play out well before it happens. At ninety-six minutes, the pace hits a massive brick wall in the middle, spending too much time on repetitive arguments rather than keeping the fun moving. THE VERDICTA fair 6/10. It is a perfectly watchable, disposable weekend comedy that delivers exactly what it says on the tin but completely fails to break any new ground.
