⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 7/10 THE SUMMARY From the creators of Fisherman’s Friends, Mother’s Pride is a proper British underdog story centered on the Harley family. Following the death of their matriarch, Mick (Martin Clunes) and his estranged son Cal (Jonno Davies) must find a way to save their struggling Somerset pub, "The Drovers," and the community around it. Their solution? Jumping headfirst into the world of real ale and aiming for the Great British Beer Awards. It’s a classic "save the local" setup that doesn't try to reinvent the wheel but definitely knows how to pour a decent pint of sentiment. THE PROS Martin Clunes is top tier as the grieving Mick, bringing a weary, believable charm that makes you genuinely care about the fate of a fictional pub. Jonno Davies is a total standout as Cal, giving the father-son tension a grounded feel that avoids typical soap opera clichés.
