    ⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 8/10 THE SUMMARY Inspired by horrific real-life events, this Indian crime thriller follows the disappearance of several children from a slum in Sector 36. While the local police are initially indifferent, a corrupt and cynical cop, Ram Charan Pandey (Gajraj Rao), is forced into a game of cat-and-mouse with a chillingly polite serial killer, Prem Singh (Vikrant Massey). As the investigation goes deeper, it uncovers a dark web of child trafficking and organ harvesting, forcing Pandey to confront his own morality in a system designed to protect the powerful. THE PROS This is a gritty, uncompromising watch that doesn't shy away from the darkness of its subject matter. It hits an 8 because Vikrant Massey is absolutely terrifying; he plays the killer with a calm, mundane sociopathy that makes his actions feel even more stomach-churning. The film is an honest, biting critique of class disparity—the "missing" children of the poor are treated as invisible until they become unavoidable. It’s a win for fans of 'Mindhunter' or 'Seven', focusing on the psychological grit of the hunt rather than just the shock value. The tension is maintained with a sharp, cold efficiency that makes the 2-hour runtime fly by. THE CONS It stays at an 8 because the relentless bleakness can be a lot to handle; it’s an honest portrayal of evil, but there is very little "light" to balance the scales. It misses a higher mark because some of the plot beats regarding the higher-level conspiracy feel a bit rushed in the final act, leaving a few threads dangling that could have used more development. Because it's based on the real Nithari killings, the film carries a weight that might be too distressing for viewers who prefer their crime thrillers to have a more fictional, detached feel.
