⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 9/10 THE SUMMARY Frank Castle is back, but he’s barely holding it together. Living off the grid in Little Sicily, the Punisher is a hollow shell of a man, haunted by hallucinations of his dead family and his friend Curtis. He’s ready to check out for good until the Gnucci crime family makes the mistake of pulling him back into the light. After Frank wipes out her sons, the legendary and terrifying Ma Gnucci (played by a chilling Judith Light) puts a massive bounty on his head. It’s a lean, 48-minute "Special Presentation" that strips away the fluff and delivers a hyper-violent, psychological masterclass in street-level justice. THE PROS This is a 9/10 because it is the most visceral, R-rated project Marvel has ever dared to release. Jon Bernthal doesn't just play Frank Castle; he is the definitive version of the character, delivering a performance that is equal parts heartbreaking and terrifying. It hits Epic status because of its "The Raid" style action—the close-quarters combat in the grimy apartment complexes is some of the best choreography in the MCU. It hits the top marks because it finally introduces Ma Gnucci, with Judith Light bringing a dark, maternal menace that feels like a genuine threat to Frank’s existence. It’s a winner for its pacing; at under 50 minutes, there isn't a single wasted second. It feels less like a superhero movie and more like a gritty 70s revenge thriller that happens to have a skull logo on the chest.
