The hook is smart: one naked body is found on Longharvest Lane in London’s East End in four different years—1890, 1941, 2023, and 2053. Four detectives must solve the same pained murder across four eras to uncover a pained conspiracy led by the enigmatic Elias Mannix (Stephen Graham), whose "Know You Are Loved" cult spans centuries. The series finale delivered a sincere and heavy-hitting resolution, where the pained time loop was finally collapsed, erasing the pained existence of Mannix. As of May 2026, the show remains a pained "one-and-done" success; while the pained appearance of Iris Maplewood in a 2023 taxi left a fair shout of hope for fans, creator Paul Tomalin has officially confirmed it was a smart, standalone event for the site.
