⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 8/10 THE SUMMARYThe 2024 soft-reboot that saw Ncuti Gatwa step out of the TARDIS and into our hearts with a vibrancy the show hasn't seen in years. This "Season 1" (or Series 14 for the purists) dropped the heavy baggage of the past for a more whimsical, fantasy-leaning approach, following the Doctor and his new companion Ruby Sunday (Millie Gibson) as they dodge soul-eating goblins and solve the mystery of a girl who is always exactly 73 yards away. By April 2024, the "Disney Era" was in full swing, but as of today, April 24, 2026, we are looking back at a era that burned bright and fast—Ncuti Gatwa officially wrapped his run in 2025, leaving the show in a state of high-stakes regeneration. THE PROSNcuti Gatwa is a 100% authentic revelation. He brings a sincere, fashion-forward charisma to the Doctor that makes the character feel brand new yet perfectly ancient. The chemistry between him and Millie Gibson is a genuine highlight, especially in episodes like "Rogue," which delivered a gripping mix of Regency-era scandal and sci-fi romance.
