It’s a slow-burn revenge tale that manages to feel fresh despite being built on the bones of classic cartel tropes. THE PROS It hits the mark by leaning into the local atmosphere, making the rugged coastline feel as dangerous as the criminals themselves. The acting is a winner because the chemistry between the lawyer looking for answers and the cartel heir is genuinely electric, keeping the tension high even when the plot takes a breath. THE CONS It misses out on a higher score because it occasionally trips over its own soap opera tendencies, stretching out the drama when a sharper pace would have done wonders. Some of the side plots feel like they’re just there to pad the runtime rather than add any real meat to the bone. THE VERDICT A sharp, moody thriller that proves there is plenty of life left in the family-run crime genre.
