    ⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 8/10 THE SUMMARY Nemesis drops you into a world where revenge isn’t just personal—it’s practically a religion. The series follows undercover intelligence operative Elias Kane, a man so emotionally burnt-out he looks like sleep physically offends him, as he hunts the organisation responsible for destroying his family and turning his life into one long panic attack. Naturally, the deeper he digs, the uglier things become. Corrupt officials, private military groups, buried government secrets… everybody’s filthy, everybody’s lying, and trust becomes rarer than competent Wi-Fi on a train. THE PROS The atmosphere is the real killer here. Nemesis absolutely nails that cold, paranoid spy-thriller tone where every conversation feels dangerous and every room looks like somebody’s hiding a recording device in the ceiling. The lead performance carries serious weight too—Elias feels properly exhausted rather than “cool action hero pretending to brood.” The action scenes are brutal and efficient without turning into superhero nonsense, and the writing wisely keeps the violence grounded and ugly. There’s also a genuinely addictive momentum to the conspiracy plot. Every episode ends with just enough new information to make you immediately click “next episode” while quietly ruining your sleep schedule. THE CONS It lands at an 8/10 because the series occasionally gets tangled in its own web of secrets and double-crosses. There are moments where characters explain things with such intense seriousness that you almost need a corkboard and red string just to keep up. Some supporting characters also drift dangerously close to “mysterious person who speaks entirely in cryptic warnings” territory. It misses the 9/10 mark because while consistently gripping, it never quite delivers that one jaw-dropping emotional gut punch needed to elevate it into all-time spy thriller territory. THE VERDICT An 8/10. Tense, stylish, and refreshingly mean in places. Nemesis understands that good spy dramas aren’t really about explosions—they’re about paranoia, exhaustion, and watching damaged people slowly destroy themselves chasing answers. A proper binge-worthy thriller that feels expensive, dangerous, and just cynical enough to work brilliantly. INSOMNIAC TRIVIA • The production reportedly hired former intelligence consultants mainly to help actors understand surveillance behaviour and interrogation psychology rather than military combat.• Several nighttime city sequences were filmed during actual early-morning hours because the creators wanted the exhaustion on the actors’ faces to look genuine. Ruthless behaviour, frankly.• The writers intentionally stripped back large action scenes in favour of quieter tension after early drafts started feeling “too much like generic streaming spy content.” Smart decision.• Elias Kane’s constantly worn-down appearance became so important to the character that makeup teams reportedly focused more on subtle sleep deprivation than traditional “action hero bruises.”• Internally, parts of the crew nicknamed the series “Depression Bourne,” which honestly tells you almost everything you need to know about the vibe. THE VIBE Like chain-drinking black coffee in a rainy hotel room while slowly realising everybody in your contacts list might want you dead. Cold, paranoid, and quietly addictive.
