    ⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 7/10 THE SUMMARY Adrien is a young man with a criminal record and a desperate need for a fresh start. He lands a job at one of Paris's most prestigious luxury hotels, but he quickly finds that the world of five-star service is just as dangerous as the streets he left behind. Behind the gold-leaf doors and white-glove service lies a cutthroat environment where the staff and the wealthy guests are locked in a constant battle of ambition, blackmail, and betrayal. Adrien has to decide how much of his soul he’s willing to trade to keep his position in a world that wasn't built for people like him. THE PROS The setting is the real highlight here; the contrast between the beautiful, opulent guest rooms and the cramped, frantic "back of house" areas is handled with honest style. It hits a 7 because the lead performance is sincere and pained, making you really root for Adrien as he tries to navigate a system designed to see him fail. The tension is consistent, and the show does a great job of showing how the "privileges" of the rich are often built on the backs of people who are completely invisible to them. It’s a smart, stylish thriller that feels fresh by focusing on the grit behind the glamour of Paris. THE CONS It stays at a 7 because some of the plot twists involving the hotel’s management feel a bit like a head-scratcher and lean a little too hard into soap opera territory. It misses a higher mark because the pacing can feel like a bit of a slog in the middle episodes when the show focuses on secondary romances that don't have much to do with the main mystery. The villains—mostly the wealthy elite staying at the hotel—can feel a bit one-dimensional and cartoonish in their cruelty. While the drama is good, it occasionally loses the grounded, "street-level" feel that made the first few episodes so gripping. THE VERDICT 7/10. A sharp, stylish, and honest look at the dark side of luxury. It’s a good result for anyone who likes a character-driven thriller with a bit of social commentary. INSOMNIAC TRIVIA • To make the hotel scenes feel authentic, the production filmed in a real Parisian "Palace" hotel during the off-season, and the actors were trained by actual high-end concierge and kitchen staff.• The lead actor spent several weeks shadowing real hotel workers in Paris to learn the specific "invisible" movements and etiquette required for a top-tier service job.• The show's title is a double meaning, referring both to the perks the guests enjoy and the "privilege" Adrien feels just to have a second chance at a normal life. THE VIBE Like a cold glass of champagne in a room full of secrets. It smells of expensive perfume, floor wax, and the metallic tang of a silver serving tray.
