    ⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 8/10 THE SUMMARY A high-octane action-comedy series that is a massive laugh. Debbie and Judith have been best mates for over twenty years and think they know everything about each other. That is until a regular night out spirals into a massive shootout, and Judith casually whips out a gun, revealing she is actually a highly trained international assassin. When a top-secret hit goes completely sideways and dangerous enemies show up, the two friends are forced to go on a wild road trip across Europe to survive while trying to patch up their broken trust. THE PROS The casting here is a stroke of genius, pairing the brilliant Octavia Spencer with the powerhouse Hannah Waddingham. Their comedic chemistry is electric, blending classic buddy-cop banter with the chaotic energy of an everyday friendship pushed to the absolute limit. With Peyton Reed directing episodes, the large-scale car chases and action sequences look incredibly polished, fast-paced, and cinematic. THE CONS Spy spoofs can easily run the risk of becoming a bit too silly or relying on familiar genre clichés we've all seen before. With eight full episodes to fill, there is a small worry that the high-octane pacing might stretch a bit thin in the middle chapters compared to a tight comedy movie. THE VERDICT An anticipated 8/10. Everything about this show points toward it being a fantastic crowd-pleaser that is perfect for a proper weekend binge. It secures an 8 because the central duo is phenomenal and the premise offers a brilliant mix of explosive stunts and honest comedy. With the jokes flying as fast as the bullets, this is a massive favorite. INSOMNIAC TRIVIA • Creative Mind: The series was created by talented British comedian and performer Tessa Coates, who is well known for her Edinburgh Fringe shows and co-hosting the hit podcast Nobody Panic.• Prague Double: While the characters are busy sprinting across various international European cities on screen, the entire production was actually filmed over six months on location in Prague and across the Czech Republic.• Hollywood Muscle: The show has some serious star power backing it behind the scenes, with superstar actress Margot Robbie serving as an executive producer under her LuckyChap entertainment banner. THE VIBE Like packing a luxury suitcase for a scenic holiday across Europe but accidentally throwing a few live smoke grenades inside. It smells like expensive hotel lobbies, burning car tires, fresh continental coffee, and pure chaos. Wild, glossy, and highly entertaining.
