    ⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 8/10 THE SUMMARY Three sisters—Elena (Clara Galle), Paula (Claudia Salas), and Cris (Paula Usero)—are enjoying a sun-drenched holiday in the Dominican Republic until everything goes south in an instant. Elena, a young single mother, accidentally kills a man with her car and panics, calling her sisters to help her hide the body. As the trio gets tangled in a web of lies to protect Elena from prison, they realize that "that night" wasn't just a tragic accident. Hidden secrets, childhood trauma, and the blurred lines of sibling loyalty turn a dream vacation into a pained, lifelong nightmare. THE PROS This is a great series because it takes a simple premise and layers it with genuine psychological weight. It hits an 8 because the chemistry between the three leads is amazing; you really believe in their shared history and the pained bond they have. Clara Galle is fantastic as Elena, portraying her as someone who is both vulnerable and dangerously manipulative. The sun-soaked tropical setting is a total highlight, acting as a stark, bright contrast to the dark, honest mess the sisters are making. It’s a smart, fast-paced thriller that handles the "how far would you go for family" question with a sincere and gripping touch. THE CONS It stays at an 8 because some of the plot twists in the later episodes are an honest head-scratcher and feel a bit convenient to keep the tension high. It misses a higher mark because the pacing can feel like a bit of a slog in the middle when the focus shifts to the local investigation, which isn't always as interesting as the drama between the sisters. A few of the secondary characters, like the father, feel a bit thin and are used more as plot devices than real people. While the ending is emotional, it leaves some lingering questions that might leave viewers feeling a pained lack of complete closure. THE VERDICT 8/10. A tense, stylish, and beautifully acted holiday thriller. It’s amazing for anyone who liked *The White Lotus* but wanted a lot more murder and a lot less satire. INSOMNIAC TRIVIA • The show is based on the bestselling novel by British author Gillian McAllister, but the setting was moved from the book's original location to the Dominican Republic to give it a more "isolated paradise" feel.• To make the sisters' bond feel honest, the three lead actresses spent time together in Spain before filming began to build a natural chemistry and learn each other's "sibling" mannerisms.• The "accident" scene was filmed over several nights on a remote, deserted road to capture the authentic sense of panic and isolation the characters were feeling. THE VIBE Like a sunset that feels a bit too cold. It smells of sunblock, sea salt, and the metallic tang of a dented car hood.
