    ⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 8/10 THE SUMMARY Six months after being handed Captain America's shield, Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) is struggling with the weight of that legacy. While he helps his sister with the family business in Louisiana, Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) is trying to make amends for his dark past as the Winter Soldier. The two are forced together to stop the Flag Smashers, a group of super-soldiers who believe the world was better during the Blip. Things get even messier when the US government appoints John Walker (Wyatt Russell) as the new Captain America, leading to a global chase that explores what it really means to carry the shield. THE PROS The chemistry between Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan is the best part of the show and makes it an 8. Their bickering feels natural and provides some much-needed humor in a story that deals with some heavy themes. Wyatt Russell is a standout as John Walker; he plays the role with a desperate, shaky energy that makes him an unpredictable and tragic figure. The show does a great job exploring the history of the Super Soldier serum, especially with the introduction of Isaiah Bradley, which adds a deep layer of meaning to Sam’s journey. It’s a grounded, action-packed series that feels like a direct sequel to the Captain America movies, keeping the fights fast and the stakes personal. THE CONS It stays at an 8 because the main villains, the Flag Smashers, feel a bit underdeveloped and their motivations can be a head-scratcher at times. It misses a higher mark because the pacing is a little uneven, with some episodes feeling like a rush of action and others slowing down to focus on subplots that don't always feel necessary. The "Power Broker" reveal near the end didn't land for everyone and felt a bit like a setup for future projects rather than a satisfying conclusion to this story. While the action is impressive, a few of the CGI-heavy scenes can look a bit flat compared to the gritty, practical stunts we saw in *The Winter Soldier* movie. THE VERDICT 8/10. A solid, thought-provoking action thriller that handles its legacy well. It’s a great addition for anyone who wants a more realistic look at the heroes behind the masks. INSOMNIAC TRIVIA • Wyatt Russell actually auditioned for the role of Steve Rogers in the first Captain America movie back in 2011; he didn't get it then, but he eventually got to wear the suit in this show as a very different version of the hero.• Daniel Brühl improvised the famous "Zemo dancing" scene in the nightclub; the clip became such a viral hit that Marvel eventually released an hour-long loop of him dancing on YouTube.• Don Cheadle’s cameo as James Rhodes lasted less than two minutes, but it was so effective that he actually earned an Emmy nomination for the performance. THE VIBE Like a sunrise over a quiet shipyard. It smells of river water, old metal, and the heavy scent of a new beginning.
