    ⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 6/10 THE SUMMARYA glamorous South African influencer fights tooth and nail to keep her picture-perfect family image alive on social media. Behind the screen, her wealthy businessman husband is a serial cheater who treats marriage like a sport, bringing home a constant stream of new wives and mistresses. When his endless lies and psychological abuse finally push her over the edge, the family home descends into absolute chaos as she launches a toxic campaign for flat-out revenge. THE PROSSdumo Mtshali is phenomenal as the villainous husband Jonasi, playing a manipulative, textbook narcissist so well that he will make your blood boil in every single scene. Gugu Gumede puts in a powerful performance as Joyce, brilliantly capturing the quiet humiliation and sudden, explosive rage of a woman who has completely snapped. The opening few episodes are proper, unhinged trash TV that hooks you instantly with pure drama, scandalous betrayals, and massive cliffhangers. THE CONSSpanning across twenty-two episodes, the series is far too long and completely burns itself out by the second half. It repeatedly trades clever character development for cheap shock value, cramming in far too many over-the-top subplots about violence, sudden time-jumps, and excessive sex scenes. By the time it tries to pivot into a serious, somber drama about generational trauma in the final act, the tone feels incredibly unearned and heavily dragged out. THE VERDICTA solid 6/10. It is a wildly addictive, chaotic soap opera that works perfectly if you just want to park your brain and watch a messy family completely implode. It grabs a 6 because the leading performances are top-tier and the initial drama is highly watchable, but it misses a higher score because the exhausting runtime turns a sharp thriller into a repetitive marathon of pure misery.
