⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 5/10 THE SUMMARY The legendary childhood book gets a high-quality live-action sequel where a grown-up Harold (Zachary Levi) draws himself out of the 2D world and into the honest-to-god real world. Still clutching his absolute quality purple crayon, Harold can make anything he imagines come to life, from a tandem bicycle to a high-flying plane. Accompanied by his animal pals, Moose and Porcupine (now in human form), Harold has to find his "Old Man" creator while stopping a disgruntled librarian from using the crayon's power for a total head-shaker of a villainous plan. THE PROS Zachary Levi is a total winner here, bringing a sincere, wide-eyed innocence to Harold that makes the "fish out of water" tropes feel absolute quality. The film earns its 5/10 because the visual effects for the purple drawings are a high-quality banger—it’s legendary to see the crayon lines spark and solidify into real objects. Lil Rel Howery is an honest shout for the funniest part of the movie, providing some legendary banter as the human version of Moose.
