⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 6/10 THE SUMMARY Sam Wilson has officially stepped into the mantle of Captain America, but the transition is anything but smooth. After meeting with the newly elected U.S. President Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross (Harrison Ford), who wants to make Captain America an official military position, Sam finds himself at the center of an international conspiracy. A mysterious global incident involving brainwashed assassins—including former super-soldier Isaiah Bradley—forces Sam and the new Falcon, Joaquin Torres, to investigate a shadowy group known as the Serpent Society. As Ross pushes to secure a new power source on the emerging Celestial Island, Sam must uncover the true puppet master, Samuel Sterns (The Leader), before the world is plunged into a new kind of war. THE PROS Anthony Mackie is a total winner in his first solo outing as Cap, bringing a sincere, grounded humanity to Sam Wilson that makes him feel like a proper underdog. He doesn't have the super-soldier serum, so the action is punchy and relies more on his wings and shield skills, which is pure quality to watch. Harrison Ford is an absolute business addition to the MCU; he brings a steely gravitas to President Ross that William Hurt would have been proud of. It’s a 6/10 because the "political thriller" vibe feels like a quality throwback to 'The Winter Soldier', especially during the tense White House sequences. Giancarlo Esposito as Sidewinder is also quality, providing a menacing physical threat that keeps the stakes high. THE CONS It earns a 6/10 because the plot is incredibly busy and can feel slightly sluggish in the middle act as it tries to juggle too many characters and setups for future films. While the "Red Hulk" reveal is epic status, the CGI during the final showdown feels a bit quality-deficient and lacks the "weight" of earlier Marvel entries.
