⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 8/10 THE SUMMARY Ten years after the Hollywood bloodbath, Sidney Prescott returns to Woodsboro on the final stop of her book tour. Her homecoming coincides with the 15th anniversary of the original massacre, and right on cue, a new Ghostface emerges to terrorize a fresh generation of high schoolers. As Sidney reunites with Gale and Dewey, she realizes the "remake rules" are in play—the kills are more extreme, and the thirst for internet fame has replaced the simple revenge of the past. It’s a sharp, cynical update that asks if the original can ever truly be outdone. THE PROS This sequel is an absolute win for its viciously smart take on social media and the "fame for nothing" culture. Kirby Reed (Hayden Panettiere) is a total belter and an instant fan favorite, bringing a sincere horror-nerd energy that rivals Randy Meeks. The opening sequence is a celebratory explosion of meta-commentary that keeps you guessing through multiple layers of fake-outs. It’s a good movie because it successfully bridges the gap between the legacy cast and the new blood, delivering a finale that is both shocking and a sincere critique of modern celebrity obsession. THE CONS It earns an 8/10 because, while highly recommended, the visual "glow" filter used throughout the film is a bit of a head-scratcher and makes the whole thing look a tad soft and hazy. Some of the new characters are a sincere bit underdeveloped, serving more as cannon fodder than actual people we care about. It misses the 9/10 status because, despite its cleverness, it still feels a bit like it’s chasing the shadow of the 1996 original. He actually has a sincere cameo as a background character that was sadly cut from the theatrical version.• The Mask Update: While the Ghostface mask looks identical, the production used a slightly higher-quality silicone version for this film to ensure it looked sharp under the modern digital cameras.
