⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 7/10 THE SUMMARYThe sharp-witted young detective returns for another fast-paced Victorian mystery that takes her completely out of her comfort zone. Now running her own fully established London agency, Enola finds herself caught up in a high-stakes conspiracy involving underground printing presses, stolen government secrets, and a dangerous black market ring. With the Metropolitan Police completely out of their depth and a shadow hanging over her family name, Enola has to use every ounce of her wit to untangle the web, while reluctantly leaning on her famous brother Sherlock for a bit of backup. THE PROSMillie Bobby Brown is as charming as ever in the lead, bringing a massive amount of infectious, high-energy banter to her fourth-wall breaks that keeps the audience fully hooked. The chemistry between Enola and Louis Partridge's Tewkesbury remains a major highlight, offering a genuinely sweet and mature emotional anchor to the chaotic detective work. The set designs look absolutely spectacular, capturing a brilliant contrast between the filthy, bustling industrial docks of London and the opulent, stuffy country estates. THE CONSThe central mystery is so overly complicated with multiple double-crosses that the plot occasionally gets tangled up in its own feet during the second half. Henry Cavill's Sherlock Holmes is a fantastic screen presence, but his massive side plot regarding his ongoing mental chess match with Moriarty feels a bit disconnected from Enola's main adventure. At over two hours, a few of the frantic chase sequences through the city alleys go on a touch too long and stall the narrative momentum. THE VERDICTA solid 7/10. It is a funny, highly entertaining, and beautifully produced mystery adventure that delivers exactly the kind of clever, lighthearted fun that fans of the franchise love. It comfortably clears a 7 because the central performances are top-tier and the visual style is incredibly sharp from start to finish. It misses out on a higher score because the complex plot gets a bit too messy for its own good in the final act, but it remains a cracking weekend watch.
