With a rugged, everyday look, a nose that tells you he’s not afraid of a bit of rough-and-tumble, and an elite ability to look like he’s carrying the entire world's sadness on his shoulders, he has completely redefined what a modern leading man looks like.
He first properly took the world by storm during the 2020 lockdown, starring alongside Daisy Edgar-Jones in the BBC’s adaptation of Normal People. Playing the deeply conflicted Connell Waldron, Paul delivered a performance so raw and intensely human that it felt less like watching an actor and more like eavesdropping on someone’s private life.
