Overview

⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 3/10 THE SUMMARY Ten years after the original gang left East Great Falls, we’re back with a new trio of desperate virgins: Rob, Nathan, and Lube. After Rob accidentally torches the school library, he discovers "The Bible"—the legendary sex manual from the first film. The problem is, it’s ruined by the sprinklers, leaving the advice unreadable. The lads decide to track down the original contributors, including the legendary Noah Levenstein (Eugene Levy), to rebuild the book and finally get lucky before graduation. THE PROS It’s always a result to see Eugene Levy; he’s the only thing keeping this franchise tethered to reality, and his commitment to being the world’s most awkward dad is still top-tier. There are a few cameos from random 80s icons and a Border Guard played by Kevin Federline that are so bizarre they actually provide a bit of a laugh. It gets a 3/10 purely because it tries to return to the high school roots of the original trilogy rather than the weird frat-house obsession of the previous spin-offs. If you’re a completionist who needs to see every Stifler relative in existence, this is your lot. THE CONS It’s a 3 because the "raunchy" comedy is more desperate than funny—at one point, a character gets sodomised by a moose, which is a bit of a low for everyone involved. The main trio feel like budget versions of Jim, Kevin, and Finch, and most of the jokes are just recycled from 1999 but with a lower budget and worse timing. It misses a higher score because the pacing is a slog; for a 90-minute comedy, it feels like a lifetime when the script relies on gross-out gags that just don't land. The whole thing feels like a cash-grab that lacks the genuine heart that made the original cast actually likable. THE VERDICT A bit of a car crash that even Eugene Levy can’t fully save. It’s strictly for those who have run out of literally everything else to watch on a Sunday afternoon. INSOMNIAC TRIVIA • Final Curtain: This film marked the final screen appearance of the legendary Sherman Hemsley (The Jeffersons) before his death in 2012; he pops up in a quick cameo as a former East Great Falls alumnus.• Cameo Central: The movie is packed with random cameos, including Bret Michaels from Poison and Dustin Diamond (Screech from Saved by the Bell), all playing former students who contributed to the "Bible."• Canadian Double: Despite being set in Michigan, the entire movie was filmed in British Columbia, Canada. The "East Great Falls High" you see is actually Centennial Secondary School in Coquitlam. THE VIBE Like a stale pint and a cold kebab. It smells like cheap body spray, panic, and a straight-to-DVD budget.
