Overview

When Erik Stifler realizes that he's the only Stifler family member who might graduate high school a virgin, he decides to live up to his legacy. ⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 4/10 THE SUMMARY Erik Stifler (John White) is suffering from a massive crisis of identity: he’s a high school senior, he’s a Stifler, and he’s still a virgin. His sweet-natured girlfriend Tracy (Jessy Schram) isn’t ready to go all the way, so after a series of awkward interruptions, she gives him a "free pass" for one weekend. Erik heads to the University of Michigan to visit his legendary cousin Dwight (Steve Talley), the king of the Beta House fraternity. The weekend coincides with the "Naked Mile," a campus-wide tradition of running through the streets in the buff. Erik and his mates find themselves embroiled in a "Boner Olympics" and a bitter rivalry with a fraternity of little people, all while Erik struggles with whether he should actually use his pass or stay loyal to Tracy. THE PROS Steve Talley is a total winner as Dwight Stifler, bringing a charisma that feels much more "Stifler-esque" than the lead in the previous spin-off. He’s absolute business as the party-king cousin, and his relationship with Erik feels surprisingly sincere for a movie about running naked. It’s a 4/10 because the "Boner Olympics" and the football game against the rival frat have a certain audacious energy that keeps the film from being a total damp squib. Eugene Levy returns as Mr. Levenstein, and his interaction with the Stifler family is pure quality, providing the only real laughs in the movie. The soundtrack is punchy, and the production values are a step up from 'Band Camp', making the "Naked Mile" sequence itself look like a genuine event rather than a low-budget set piece. THE CONS It earns a 4/10 because the "humor" surrounding the fraternity of little people is incredibly quality-deficient and hasn't aged well at all, relying on derogatory slurs that feel more lazy than funny. The plot is a bit of a head-scratcher, as Tracy giving Erik a "free pass" feels like a sincere stretch of logic just to set up the premise. It misses a 5/10 mark because the opening scene involving a grandmother and a "misplaced" bodily fluid is a bit of a damp squib—it’s trying too hard to be shocking and ends up just being grotty. At 102 minutes, the middle act feels slightly sluggish, and many of the secondary characters are one-dimensional tropes that we’ve seen done better in 'Old School' or the original 'American Pie'.
