Overview

⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 4/10 THE SUMMARY When Joan’s (Diane Keaton) husband Arthur passes away, she discovers he’s been working on a high-quality secret in the garden shed: a legendary, magical whisky that literally turns back the clock. After a few high-stakes sips with her best friends Linda (Patricia Hodge) and Susan (Lulu), the trio is transformed into their younger selves for a night of honest chaos in Las Vegas. It’s a sincere, "fountain of youth" comedy that explores the absolute quality bonds of friendship and the legendary realization that being young again isn't all it’s cracked up to be. THE PROS The legendary cast is the absolute winner here. Seeing Diane Keaton, Patricia Hodge, and Lulu together is high-quality fun, and they bring a sincere energy to the screen that keeps the film from being a total slog. It hits the 4 mark because the "younger" versions of the characters do a high-quality job of mimicking the mannerisms of the legends, making the transformation feel honest and absolute quality. There are a few sincere laughs to be found in the fish-out-of-water scenarios, and the legendary message about aging with grace is an honest shout that will resonate with its target audience. It’s a win for a breezy, high-quality afternoon watch if you’re in the mood for something light and absolute quality.
