    Bad Boys: Ride or Die (2024) ​Rating: 7/10 ​Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are officially the "Grumpy Old Men" of action cinema, but they’re still having more fun than anyone else in Miami. ️ ​ THE SUMMARY Mike and Marcus are back, but this time they’re the ones on the run. After their late Captain is framed for corruption, the duo has to go rogue to clear his name. It’s a mix of mid-life crises, panic attacks, and Marcus suddenly believing he’s immortal because he survived a heart attack and likes Skittles too much. ​ THE PROS The action is surprisingly inventive. The directors use drone shots and "first-person shooter" camera angles that make the shootouts feel like a video game in the best way possible. Also, Reggie (the son-in-law) finally gets his moment to shine in a home-defense scene that is easily the highlight of the entire movie. ​ THE CONS The plot is basically a "Best Of" compilation of every cop movie ever made. It’s predictable, a bit too long, and some of the humor feels a little "dad joke" heavy for an R-rated flick. If you’re looking for deep storytelling, you’re in the wrong theater. ​ THE VERDICT It’s "comfort food" action. It doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but Smith and Lawrence still have that magic chemistry that makes you forget how many times you’ve seen this exact story. A solid 7/10—perfect for a popcorn night.
