⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 5/10 THE SUMMARY The fourth installment in the Disney franchise shifts the focus to a new generation of "Vks" (Villain Kids). Red, the rebellious daughter of the Queen of Hearts, and Chloe, the perfectionist daughter of Cinderella, are forced to team up when a coup threatens the kingdom of Auradon. Using a magical pocket watch, they travel back in time to their parents' high school days to stop a pivotal event from turning the Queen of Hearts into a tyrant. It’s a bright, high-energy musical that tries to breathe new life into the series with a time-travel twist and a whole new cast of fairytale descendants. THE PROS The chemistry between Kylie Cantrall (Red) and Malia Baker (Chloe) is a winner, providing a sincere "odd couple" dynamic that carries the film. The production design remains high-quality for a Disney Channel original, with vibrant, imaginative costumes that are an honest shout to the original trilogy's aesthetic.
