Her coming-of-age isn't just about young love, though; it’s complicated by her mother, Anila, who never got to experience her own youth and begins to live vicariously—and sometimes destructively—through her daughter. It’s a sharp, honest look at the messy friction between mothers and daughters, repressed desire, and the struggle to find your own voice in a place designed to keep you quiet. THE PROS This is a standout because it avoids all the usual "teen romance" fluff. The acting is incredibly natural, especially from Preeti Panigrahi as Mira, who captures that specific mix of confidence and total confusion perfectly.
