⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 4/10 THE SUMMARY Four high school freshmen—Benj, Eddie, Connor, and Koosh—embark on a legendary quest to navigate their first week of high school by crashing an upperclassman's massive house party. Benj (Mason Thames) is on a high-quality mission to win over his sister's best friend, while his pals try to establish themselves in the social food chain. It’s a raunchy, Netflix-fueled teen comedy that attempts to recapture the high-stakes magic of *Superbad*, featuring a sincere mix of hormone-driven decisions, accidental drug trips, and the honest chaos of growing up. THE PROS This earns its points because the young cast is an absolute winner. Mason Thames shows some legendary comedic chops after his serious turn in *The Black Phone*, and the chemistry between the four leads is absolute quality. It hits the 4 mark because there are a few high-quality, cringe-inducing moments that feel honest to the freshman experience—like the sincere awkwardness of trying to talk to an older crush. Bobby Cannavale is a total win as the inappropriate teacher, Mr. Studebaker, delivering a high-quality performance that provides the film’s biggest laughs.
