⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 7/10 THE SUMMARY Based on Colleen Hoover’s juggernaut novel, this 2024 drama stars Blake Lively as Lily Bloom, a woman who moves to Boston to open her own flower shop and leave a traumatic past behind. She falls for Ryle Kincaid (Justin Baldoni), a charming but volatile neurosurgeon whose "episodes" begin to mirror the domestic abuse Lily witnessed as a child. When her first love, Atlas Corrigan (Brandon Sklenar), reappears in her life, Lily is forced to confront the cycle of violence and make an honest, heart-wrenching choice for her future. It’s a polished, heavy-hitting adaptation that tries to package a brutal reality inside a glossy Hollywood romance. THE PROS Blake Lively is a total winner here, bringing a sincere steeliness to Lily that helps ground the more melodramatic moments of the script. The film earns a 7/10 because it handles the nuances of manipulation with high-quality care; it shows how easily an independent person can get caught in a toxic web without realizing it.
