Overview

⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 8/10 THE SUMMARY Five years after the events of Dominion, the planet’s ecology has proven inhospitable to dinosaurs. The giants that remain are restricted to isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the era they first ruled. Zora Bennett (Scarlett Johansson), a skilled covert operations expert, is hired to lead a gritty mission into these dangerous zones to secure DNA from the three largest remaining species. This genetic material holds the key to a pained medical breakthrough that could save millions of lives. However, when her team crosses paths with a civilian family whose boat was capsized by aquatic predators, they find themselves stranded on an island that harbors a pained, secret history that should have stayed buried. THE PROS This is an absolute win for fans who missed the tension of the original trilogy. It hits an 8 because director Gareth Edwards brings back a sincere sense of scale and awe; the dinosaurs feel heavy, visceral, and terrifying once again. Scarlett Johansson is an absolute banger as Zora, delivering an honest, steel-edged performance that makes the survival stakes feel real.
