    ⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 8/10 THE SUMMARY The fight for Earthrealm finally moves to the actual tournament. After the events in Chicago, Cole Young and the survivors head to Outworld to compete in the tenth Mortal Kombat. They’re joined by the ego-driven Hollywood star Johnny Cage and the exiled princess Kitana. Standing in their way is the brutal Emperor Shao Kahn and a resurrected Bi-Han, now the shadow-wraith Noob Saibot. It’s a high-stakes bracket where the losers don’t just go home—they get wiped from existence. THE PROS Karl Urban as Johnny Cage is a total win; he brings a punchy, arrogant energy that the first film was missing. The decision to lean into a proper tournament structure makes the pacing much tighter than the 2021 reboot. The fight choreography is epic, especially the scenes involving Kitana’s fans and Jade’s staff work. It’s a good movie because it finally delivers on the scale fans wanted, with a much larger roster of fighters and some truly gnarly, R-rated fatalities that look fantastic on the big screen. THE CONS It earns an 8/10 because the plot can feel a bit like a boss-rush mode, moving from one fight to the next with very little room for character development. The new "bald" look for Jade is a bit of a damp squib that’s already dividing the fanbase. It misses a 9/10 mark because the sheer number of new characters—like Sindel, Quan Chi, and Baraka—means some of them feel like they’re just there to be cannon fodder rather than actual threats. THE VERDICT An 8/10. A good movie and a total recommendation for anyone who felt the first one was just a warm-up. It’s a winner for the Johnny Cage banter alone. Go and watch it for the Noob Saibot reveal—it’s quality. THE VIBE Like a heavy metal concert in a gladiator arena. It smells like dry ice, copper, and expensive hairspray.
