⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 9/10 THE SUMMARY Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica, but as anyone with a double-O prefix knows, retirement is a myth. His peace is shattered when his old CIA pal Felix Leiter turns up asking for help to rescue a kidnapped scientist. What starts as a simple mission spirals into a race against a mysterious villain armed with a terrifying new biological technology that targets specific DNA. It is a massive, emotional, and visually stunning conclusion to the Daniel Craig era that finally forces Bond to face the one thing he’s always run from: his own legacy. THE PROS Daniel Craig gives his most sincere performance yet, peeling back the layers of the "blunt instrument" to reveal a man who is deeply weary but still incredibly lethal. The action is a win from start to finish, particularly the pre-credit chase through the ancient streets of Matera and the misty forest ambush that feels like a survival horror flick. Ana de Armas is a total belter as Paloma; she only appears for ten minutes, but she brings a witty, infectious energy that nearly steals the whole movie. It is a celebratory explosion of Bond tropes—gadgets, stunning locations, and high stakes—all wrapped in a story that actually has something to say about time and sacrifice. THE CONS It earns a 9/10 because, at nearly three hours, it is a bit of a Languid Burn in the middle act as it tries to tie up every single loose thread from the previous four films.
