Overview

⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 5/10 THE SUMMARY Based on the massive Colleen Hoover bestseller, this romantic drama follows Kenna Rowan (Maika Monroe) as she returns to town after a seven-year prison stint for a tragic mistake. Her goal is simple: reconnect with the daughter she’s never met. Standing in her way are the girl's grandparents (Lauren Graham and Bradley Whitford), who want nothing to do with her. The only person willing to give her the time of day is Ledger (Tyriq Withers), a local bar owner who just happens to be her late boyfriend's best friend. It’s a heavy-hitting story about forgiveness, grief, and the complicated mess of trying to fix a shattered life. THE PROS Maika Monroe delivers a haunting performance, carrying the weight of Kenna’s guilt in a way that feels incredibly sincere. She manages to make a difficult character someone you actually want to see find peace. Tyriq Withers is great as Ledger, bringing a quiet, protective energy that balances out the higher emotional stakes. The chemistry between them is solid and provides a much-needed anchor for the film.
