⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 10/10 THE SUMMARY DreamWorks took a massive swing at the Disney fairy-tale formula and ended up creating an absolute legend. Shrek is an anti-social ogre who just wants to live in his swamp in peace, but his quiet life is ruined when Lord Farquaad dumps a load of fairy-tale creatures on his doorstep. To get his swamp back, Shrek makes a deal to rescue Princess Fiona from a dragon-guarded tower, accompanied by a talkative Donkey who won't shut up. It’s a hilarious, subversive adventure that flipped the script on what a "happily ever after" looks like. THE PROS This earns its 10/10 and "Epic Status" because it’s a perfect comedy that works for every age. Mike Myers and Eddie Murphy are a total winner as Shrek and Donkey; their chemistry is legendary and provided the blueprint for every "odd couple" animated flick that followed.
