⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 8/10 THE SUMMARY If you thought the Sniper franchise would be running on fumes by its twelfth outing, No Nation is here to prove there is still plenty of lead in the pencil. Picking up after the chaos of the previous film, Brandon Beckett and the G.R.I.T. team find themselves disavowed by the U.S. government and branded as terrorists. Without a flag or a paycheck, Brandon has to go rogue to rescue his teammates from a ruthless mercenary group called the Iron Legion. It is a grittier, more survival-focused entry that trades the usual military polish for a desperate, off-the-books scrap. THE PROS Chad Michael Collins has fully grown into the role of Brandon; he plays him with a battle-worn, tired energy that feels sincere rather than just "tough guy" posturing. The return of Tom Berenger as the legendary Thomas Beckett is more than just a nostalgia trip—his dynamic with Brandon is grounded and adds some real emotional weight to the carnage. Ryan Robbins as Agent Zero continues to be the absolute business, providing the tactical precision and witty digs that keep the film from getting too somber. The action is impressively varied, successfully mixing long-range sniping with some brutal, close-quarters hand-to-hand combat that feels much more personal than in previous films. THE CONS It earns an 8/10 because while the "rogue agent" angle is smart, the middle section hits a bit of a Languid Burn as the characters sit around talking politics. If you are here strictly for 90 minutes of through-the-scope action, you might find the slower pacing a bit of a shift. Some of the political thriller elements are a tad wet and predictable, and you can definitely feel the lower budget in some of the larger-scale explosions. It misses the 9/10 status because it leans on a few too many franchise tropes—like the "ticking clock" execution—that we have seen done to death. THE VERDICT An 8/10. This is a good film and arguably the most impactful entry in the series since the original. It is a genuine, hard-hitting belter that takes some surprising risks, especially with an ending that leaves the door wide open for more. Go and watch this because it is the business for action fans—just make sure you have seen the last entry first, or you might be a bit lost in the geopolitical weeds. It is a vault essential for anyone who likes their heroes with a bit of dirt under their fingernails. THE VIBE Like a cold night in a safehouse, the smell of gun oil and stale coffee, and the constant feeling that your own side has a target on your back. It is dark, tense, and surprisingly gutsy. It makes you want to pack a bug-out bag, check your corners, and never trust a politician.
