⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 8/10 THE SUMMARY When Carey’s wife, Ashley, suddenly asks for a divorce, he turns to his best friends, Paul and Julie, for a shoulder to cry on. He’s floored to discover that the secret to their suspiciously happy marriage is that they’re non-monogamous. Things take a chaotic turn when the heartbroken Carey sleeps with Julie, sparking a massive rift that tests the boundaries of their friendship and their "modern" views on romance. It’s a messy, witty dive into open marriages, male insecurity, and the absolute disaster that occurs when people try to apply "logic" to their libidos. THE PROS Michael Angelo Covino and Kyle Marvin have a quality chemistry that makes their constant bickering feel lived-in and sincere. Dakota Johnson is a standout as Julie, delivering a deadpan performance that anchors the more absurd moments of the farce. Adria Arjona is equally good as the fiery Ashley, bringing a much-needed energy to the group dynamic. It’s an 8/10 because it captures the "unromantic comedy" vibe perfectly, using physical slapstick and sharp dialogue to poke fun at today's relationship trends.
