⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 9/10 THE SUMMARY Twenty years after throwing her phone in a Parisian fountain, Andy Sachs is a respected journalist pulled back into the orbit of the legendary Miranda Priestly. The fashion industry has changed; print is dying, and Miranda is fighting to keep Runway magazine relevant in a digital-first world. The twist? Emily Charlton is no longer a frazzled assistant but a high-powered executive at a luxury conglomerate that holds the advertising dollars Miranda desperately needs. Andy is caught in the middle of a delicious power struggle where the stilettos are sharper and the stakes are much higher. THE PROS The reunion of Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, and Emily Blunt is epic status. Their chemistry hasn't aged a day, and seeing the power dynamic flip—with Emily now holding the cards over Miranda—is a total masterstroke. Stanley Tucci is back as Nigel, and his banter remains the punchiest in the business. It’s a 9/10 because it captures the brutal reality of the modern media landscape while maintaining the glossy, aspirational fun of the original. The fashion is a winner, especially with new faces like Simone Ashley joining the fray. THE CONS It misses the 10/10 mark because the plot leans heavily on the "impending retirement" trope, which can feel slightly sluggish in the second act. A few of the new "influencer" characters are a bit of a damp squib compared to the iconic original cast, occasionally feeling like they’re from a different movie entirely. THE VERDICT A 9/10.
