Evelyn Giovine stars as Verity, a young woman with a rebellious streak who goes undercover as "Chastity," a marketing intern, at the "Hope of the Beloved" church. Her mission? To find out what happened to her estranged mother, who vanished after leaving a frantic voicemail. As she navigates the world of social media branding for the soul, she uncovers a history of corruption led by the charismatic Pastor Dean Humphries (Damon Dayoub). It’s a "wolf in sheep’s clothing" tale that tries to be a gritty investigative thriller but often feels more like a standard afternoon TV movie. THE PROS Evelyn Giovine is a winner in the lead role; she does a high-quality job portraying the stark contrast between her "rough around the edges" true self and the squeaky-clean "Chastity" persona.
