Unlike your typical "monster" flick, this is a sincere coming-of-age story where the two form a high-stakes bond as Justin tries to protect her from local threats. It’s an absolute quality indie attempt to ground the vampire myth in a modern, gritty setting, exploring themes of isolation and the sincere struggle of being an outsider in a boring town. THE PROS This earns its 5/10 because the chemistry between the two leads is a total winner. Chloe Levine is absolute quality, bringing a sincere and haunted energy to the role that makes the legendary "vampire" aspect feel honest and grounded. The film hits the 5 mark because it’s a win for fans of low-budget, character-driven horror; it focuses on high-quality atmosphere and sincere dialogue rather than quality-deficient jump scares.
