⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 8/10 THE SUMMARY Long before they were Optimus Prime and Megatron, they were Orion Pax (Chris Hemsworth) and D-16 (Brian Tyree Henry)—two lowly mining bots on Cybertron who couldn’t even transform. Working the pits and dreaming of something more, the pair stumble onto a conspiracy that threatens the entire planet. It’s a gritty but vibrant origin story that shows how a rock-solid brotherhood eventually splintered into the greatest rivalry in the galaxy. This isn't just a toy commercial; it’s a character-driven look at how a hero is built and how a villain is born. THE PROS The animation is a massive win here. It’s bright, sharp, and actually looks like Cybertron rather than a mess of grey scrap metal. It hits an 8 because the story is surprisingly heavy and emotional; seeing the genuine friendship between Orion and D-16 makes their eventual fall-out a real gut-punch. The voice acting is top-notch, with Bryan Tyree Henry bringing a sincere sense of tragedy to Megatron’s descent. The action is fast and easy to follow, a far cry from the blurry chaos of the older live-action films. It’s a total banger for fans who want a story with actual depth behind the lasers. THE CONS The first act leans a bit too heavily into the "kid-friendly" humor, which can feel a bit jarring compared to the darker tone the movie eventually shifts into.
