⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 8/10 THE SUMMARYA slick, mind-bending sci-fi thriller that takes a simple nightmare—“what if your life wasn’t the one you were meant to have?”—and runs wild with it. Dark Matter follows Jason Dessen, a physicist who is abducted into an alternate version of his own life, where every decision he didn’t make suddenly becomes very real. What starts as a personal mystery quickly spirals into a multiverse chase that’s equal parts emotional and chaotic. THE PROSJoel Edgerton anchors the whole thing with a performance that actually makes the sci-fi feel human—you buy into his panic, confusion, and desperation straight away. The concept is strong and easy to latch onto, even when things get complicated, and the show does a good job balancing big ideas with emotional stakes. Visually, it’s clean and cinematic without going overboard, and when the tension kicks in, it really pulls you along. THE CONSIt can get a bit repetitive as the multiverse concept loops through similar variations, and not every version of events feels equally impactful. Some supporting characters don’t get enough room to breathe, and a few plot turns rely on convenience more than logic.
