⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 8/10 THE SUMMARY Set a staggering 10,000 years before Paul Atreides ever set foot on Arrakis, Dune: Prophecy pulls back the curtain on the origins of the Bene Gesserit. Following sisters Valya and Tula Harkonnen, the series explores how a fledgling "Sisterhood" of Truthsayers began pulling the puppet strings of the Imperium. It’s not just about space travel and spice; it’s a dense, Machiavellian political thriller set in the aftermath of a war against thinking machines. While the Great Houses squabble for power, the sisters are playing a much longer game to ensure humanity survives—at any cost. THE PROS This is an 8/10 because it successfully translates the "Game of Thrones in space" vibe of the books to the small screen without losing the epic scale. Emily Watson is powerhouse as Valya Harkonnen, portraying a leader whose cold ambition is matched only by her strategic genius. Olivia Williams provides the perfect emotional counterpoint as Tula, acting as the conscience of the order. The production design is top-tier, maintaining the brutalist, "otherworldly" aesthetic of the recent films while feeling like a unique era of history. It hits the mark because it focuses on the psychological and political weight of the Sisterhood’s powers, making every "Truthsaying" session feel like a battle of wits.
