Overview

Yuji Itadori is a boy with tremendous physical strength, though he lives a completely ordinary high school life. One day, to save a classmate who has been attacked by curses, he eats the finger of Ryomen Sukuna, taking the curse into his own soul. From then on, he shares one body with Ryomen Sukuna. Guided by the most powerful of sorcerers, Satoru Gojo, Itadori is admitted to Tokyo Jujutsu High School, an organization that fights the curses... and thus begins the heroic tale of a boy who became a curse to exorcise a curse, a life from which he could never turn back.

    ⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 9/10 THE SUMMARY Yuji Itadori is a high schooler with freakish physical strength who finds himself thrust into the hidden world of Jujutsu Sorcerers after eating a rotting, cursed finger to save his friends. Now the vessel for Sukuna, the legendary "King of Curses," Yuji joins Tokyo Jujutsu High under the guidance of the world's strongest sorcerer, Satoru Gojo. The story evolves from a series of monster hunts into a brutal, large-scale war, specifically during the devastating Shibuya Incident and the high-stakes Culling Game, where the line between hero and monster is completely blurred. THE PROS This show is a massive achievement in the shonen genre and hits a 9 because it refuses to play it safe. The animation from Studio MAPPA is an absolute highlight, especially the fight choreography which is some of the most fluid and inventive in modern anime. It earns its high mark by being genuinely honest about the consequences of violence; characters you love aren't just in danger, they face pained, permanent endings that change the world forever. The "Domain Expansion" concept is an epic visual treat every time it's used. It’s a smart, fast-paced series that balances deep occult lore with some of the most intense action ever put on screen, especially in the recent 2026 episodes. THE CONS It stays at a 9 because the sheer amount of technical "Cursed Technique" rules can become a bit of a slog and a head-scratcher if you aren't paying close attention. It misses a perfect 10 because the pacing, particularly as the Culling Game arc begins, can feel a bit fragmented as it jumps between dozens of new characters at once. The emotional weight is heavy, which is great, but it can be an honest struggle to keep up with the grim tone when the show moves from one tragedy to the next without giving the audience room to breathe. While the animation is top-tier, the intense production schedule at MAPPA has occasionally led to slight visual inconsistencies in some of the more frantic episodes. THE VERDICT 9/10. A dark, visceral, and visually stunning masterpiece. It’s an epic result for the genre and a fair shout for the most influential anime of the current decade.
