⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 8/10 THE SUMMARY Sacred Heart is back in business, and the familiar faces of the original crew have finally reunited for a tenth season in 2026. J.D. (Zach Braff) has traded his intern scrubs for a suit as the new Chief of Medicine, while Turk (Donald Faison) and Elliot (Sarah Chalke) are now the seasoned vets guiding a fresh batch of chaotic medical students. The revival balances the classic goofy daydreams and slapstick with a more mature look at the healthcare system, following J.D. as he navigates a new romance and his responsibilities as a mentor, all while the legendary Dr. Cox (John C. McGinley) provides the necessary snark from the sidelines. THE PROS This is an amazing return because it feels like the show never actually left. It hits an 8 because the chemistry between Braff and Faison is a total highlight—the "Eagle!" energy is still honest and hasn't aged a day. The decision to bring back original cast members like Judy Reyes and Neil Flynn for recurring spots is a great series of moves that respects the fans without overdoing it. The new interns are actually smart and funny, providing a sincere bridge to a new generation. It’s a great series because it manages to keep that unique "comedy-drama" balance where a joke can land in one scene and a pained, emotional gut-punch can hit in the next. THE CONS It stays at an 8 because the shift from a scrappy teaching hospital to a more modern, polished facility can feel like a bit of a slog for those who loved the grittiness of the early 2000s. It misses a higher mark because some of the "current event" jokes feel a bit forced, and the absence of certain original regulars in every episode is an honest head-scratcher for long-time viewers.
