    ⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 6/10 THE SUMMARY When 42-year-old Esther vanishes in Spain, her family desperately searches for any lead. They find a glimmer of hope in José Jurado Montilla—a popular TikToker known as "Dynamite" who travels across the country sharing heartfelt videos of his journeys. He was the last person to see Esther alive and even pretends to help the family in their search. However, as investigators dig into his past, they discover a chilling history that social media filters couldn't hide. This two-part Netflix docuseries explores how a convicted killer used a new platform to reinvent himself and manipulate a grieving family in plain sight. THE PROS This is a great series for true crime fans who are interested in the dark side of digital fame. It hits a 6 because the actual case is amazing and deeply unsettling; the idea of a killer "helping" to find his own victim while posting travel vlogs is a total highlight. The documentary does an honest job of centering Esther and her family’s pained search for justice, rather than just glorifying the criminal. It’s a smart look at how easily we trust people based on their online persona, and the footage of Montilla’s TikToks mixed with police evidence is a fair shout for the most disturbing part of the show. THE CONS It stays at a 6 because the production feels a bit like a slog at times. It misses a higher mark because the English dubbing is an honest head-scratcher—you can still hear the original Spanish audio underneath, which makes it a sincere struggle to focus on what’s being said. The pacing is a bit of a slog in the second half, and the jumbled timeline can be confusing for viewers who aren't familiar with the original news reports.
