⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 7/10 THE SUMMARY If you thought navigating high school was a mission, try doing it on the other side of the planet while chasing a long-distance boyfriend. XO, Kitty (2023–Present) is a spin-off from the "To All the Boys" universe, following the youngest Covey sister, Kitty, as she moves to Seoul to attend the Korean Independent School of Seoul (KISS). She thinks she’s going for love and to connect with her late mother’s past, but she witty-ly discovers that life in South Korea isn't just a K-drama montage. Between secret siblings, fake dating, and major culture shocks, Kitty finds out that the "love expert" actually has a lot to learn. THE PROS Anna Cathcart is the absolute business—she carries the show with a sincere, bubbly energy that keeps the 900+ archive of teen tropes feeling fresh. The Seoul setting is a total win; the cinematography makes the city look 100% authentic and vibrant, making it a genuine belter for anyone who loves K-culture. It’s witty-ly sharp when it subverts expectations, especially with Kitty’s own journey of self-discovery that goes way beyond just finding a boyfriend. The supporting cast, particularly Min Ho and Yuri, bring a sincere depth that makes the "decent" rating lean toward the higher end of the scale. THE CONS It settles at a 7/10 because it is "decent"—not bad, not good. Some of the plot twists are a total head-scratcher and lean a bit too hard into "soap opera" territory, making the drama feel a bit wet. The dialogue can occasionally be total garbage cringey, especially when it tries too hard to use Gen Z slang. It’s a bit of a Languid Burn in the middle where the "fake dating" trope gets stretched thin, and it lacks the high-octane emotional punch that would push it into the "highly recommended" 9/10 category.
